La restauración del patrimonio cultural inmueble desde la ciencia y la técnica
Abstract
The restoration of real estate heritage is a complex process requiring the cooperation of both art and science to achieve a thorough understanding of the object and to act according to the research conducted. The scientific restoration procedure was established in late 19th century through a long process of critical review enabling nowadays a richer approach to cultural heritage as a set of irreplaceable assets. This article maintains such a complex view stemming from its author’s wide professional experience gained in different Andalusian monuments, focusing on the rich methodology problems presented by the Cathedral of the city of Jaén.
