La fotografía como texto y como discurso
Abstract
It is a truism to say that photography is an impossible challenge to semiotics. In spite of this, the author, using the tools of structural semiotics inspired by Greimas proposes new analytical approaches to photographic discourse. To this end, he questions three idola fori of conventional photographic theory: a) the problem of the «similarity» of the photographic sign to its referent, b) the existence of a «specific language» of photography and c) the opportunity to examine this so-called language through the identification of «minimal units» at the level of expression and content.
