Biography

Oscar Useche is Director of the Institute of Nonviolence and Citizens’ Action for Peace (INNOVAPAZ) of the UNIMINUTO University of Colombia. He is a full professor in the Doctoral Program in Social Studies at the Francisco José de Caldas District University of Bogotá, where he directs the line of research on Power, Politics and Collective Subjects. He leads the research group «Citizenship, peace and development» and is member of working groups of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and of the Ibero-American Social Studies Network. He holds a PhD from the University of Granada in Peace, Conflict and Democracy. He is an economist and Magister in Interdisciplinary Social Research. His areas of research are currently the problems related to the emerging territorialities for peace in Colombia and Latin America and communal forms of resistance to war. Among his published books: Ciudadanías en resistencia, Biodesarrollo y economía campesina, Jóvenes produciendo sociedad and Los nuevos sentidos del desarrollo.
