Maria Cristina Addis

Biography

Maria Cristina Addis is currently an adjunct member of the Center for Semiotics and Theory of Image at the University of Siena and adjunct faculty of Semiotics of Design at IUAV University in San Marino. She earned her PhD in Semiotics at the University of Siena with a thesis about architecture and utopia, and was scientific secretary of the PhD Program on visual representation at the Italian Institute of Human Sciences. She is also a member of the editorial board of the journal Carte Semiotiche and has published articles about Semiotics and art theory in international journals and volumes. She has recently translated and edited the Italian edition of La mirada plural (Madrid, Cátedra, 2008) by Santos Zunzunegui.
