Biography

María Aparisi Galán has a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a Master in Art History and Visual Culture from Universitat de València. She is a member of the association of young researchers Pangaea of the research group on Interculturality, Biopolitics and Gender Technologies (IBiTec). In addition, she is also part of IUED (Institut Universitari d’Estudi de la Dona, UVEG) and a doctoral student in the program on Interculturality and Communication. Her dissertation focuses on the representation of the African- American corporeality in the Hollywood musical cinema of the thirties and forties, analyzed with the theoretical and methodological tools of post-structuralism, Decolonial Studies and Feminist Film Theory.
