Marco Padovani received, in 1999, the Conservatory Diploma from the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “L. Boccherini” in Lucca (Italy). Then he received the University Degree in Physics with specialisation in Astrophysics and Space Science (2006) as well as the PhD in Astronomy (2009) from the University of Florence and the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri (Italy). He worked at the Institut de Ciències de l’Espai in Barcelona (Spain) and at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (France). Currently he continues his research in the Galactic star formation domain at the Laboratoire Univers et Particules in Montpellier (France). Author of scientific papers on the role of cosmic rays in molecular clouds, in parallel he carries on with nurturing his musical interests. A series of concerts about the relationship between music and astronomy originated from his twofold education.
