Linda Podio is a young post-doc researcher at INAF - Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, in Florence (Italy). She started her career as a PhD student at the University of Florence, then she worked in several European institutes such as the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (Ireland), the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute (The Netherlands), and the Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (France). Her research is focused on the study of the processes of accretion and ejection of material that characterize the formation and evolution of a new star and its proto-planetary disk. She is an expert of spectroscopic observations at optical to millimeter wavelengths from both ground-based and space telescopes. In the last years she has been deeply involved in two large international projects using data from the last-generation ESA Herschel Space Observatory.
