Josep Pedro is assistant professor and researcher in the Department of Communication at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is a member of the research group Audiovisual Diversity (UC3M). He holds a PhD in Journalism from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master’s degree in Sociocultural Analysis of Knowledge and Communication (UCM), and a degree in Audiovisual Communication (Universitat de València). He has been a visiting scholar at The University of Texas at Austin and at Birmingham City University. He is the author of the book El Blues en España (2021). He has published articles in journals such as Atlantic Studies, Signa and Jazz Research Journal, as well as chapters in collective books such as The Cambridge Companion to the Singer-Songwriter (2016) and Jazz and Totalitarianism (2017).
