Giacomo Tagliani

Biography

Giacomo Tagliani (PhD in Visual Studies, Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane of Florence, 2013) is currently an adjunct member of the Center for Semiotics and Theory of the Image «Omar Calabrese» at the University of Siena. He was a Visiting Scholar at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales of Paris, Centre de Theorie et Histoire de l’Art, and at the California Institute of the Arts of Valencia (Los Angeles County). He is a member of the editorial boards of the international journal Carte Semiotiche and the website lavoroculturale.org. He has co-edited Lo spazio del reale nel cinema italiano contemporaneo (Genoa, Le Mani-Microart’S, 2009) and has published articles about political cinema, art theory, and the relationships between cinema and painting.
