Claudio Codella obtained his PhD in Astronomy at the University of Florence (Italy), to then carry on his activity in a number of European institutes such as the Max-Planck-Institut fur Radioastronomie (Bonn, Germany), the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional (Madrid, Spain), and the CNR - Istituto di Fisica dello Spazio Interplanetario (Rome, Italy). He is now working at INAF - Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri (Florence, Italy) as a senior astronomer. His research interests are centered on the early stages of star formation, in particular the associated accretion and ejection properties, two phenomena typical of young stars and planetary systems in formation. He is also expert of observations with mm- and sub-millimeter ground based single-dish antennas and interferometers (i.e. correlated arrays of antennas), as well as diagnostic analysis of molecular gas in the interstellar medium. He is actively participating in two international large projects associated with the Herschel Space Observatory.
