Charles Genequand

Biography

Charles Genequand is Professor Emeritus of Arab Language and Literature at the University of Geneva. His research focuses on the philosophy and classical Arabic literature. He is author, among other books, of Ibn Rushd’s Metaphysics, Leiden 1984,Alexander of Aphrodisias On the Cosmos, Leiden 2001 and Ibn Bajja (Avempace), La Conduite de l’isolé et deux autres épîtres, Introduction générale, édition critique du texte arabe, traduction française, commentaire et index, Paris, 2009.
