Ana López-Sepulcre, born in 1984 in Barcelona (Spain), is currently a post-doc researcher at the University of Tokyo (Japan). She studied physics between 2002 and 2007 at the University of Barcelona, and then moved to the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri (INAF-Florence, Italy) to carry out her PhD in Astronomy, a thesis that she defended in 2011. After that, she carried out her first post-doc at the Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (IPAG, France) until June 2014. Her main research interests lie in the area of star formation, with particular emphasis on the chemistry that takes place in the process. She has considerable experience as an observational astronomer, having used several professional telescopes. She has also experience as a night guide for visitors to the IPAG telescope and has participated in various outreach activities for both school groups and a more general audience.
