María Gabriela Colmenares España is Senior Lecturer at the Film Studies Department of the School of the Arts at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. M.A. and Ph. D. in Sociocultural Studies at the Autonomous University of Baja California (Mexicali, México). She co-authored the book Diversidad en los Estudios Cinematográficos (Caracas: Universidad Central de Venezuela, 2005) and is a member of the Section on Venezuelan Studies of LASA (2014-2019), as well as of the Red de Investigación sobre Imaginarios y Representaciones (RIIR) and the Red de Investigadores sobre Cine Latinoamericano (RICiLA).
